So how did we get here?
Jami started Cheap Thrills Decor in 2000 when a shopping fetish turned into a crazy business idea. “Let’s find the coolest, funkiest wares,” she said, “and decorate the whole house with them, invite a few friends to browse, sip a glass of vino, and have some fun.” (Bob aside: with 4 kids, who wouldn’t be thinking wine and fun??)

So starts a business buzz, because the first shoppers were so intrigued by the great finds that they told a few friends, and they told a few friends, and so on and so forth, until a few years later somebody called the police! This was getting out of hand, or so the neighbors thought.

Enter Bob, a former lead singer for the rock band SLUR…who??? (Jami aside: “picture jet black hair, two earrings, a nose ring, giant tattoo, and black eyeliner!) Basically, we meet, fall in love, enjoy 3 months of seclusion, then emerge with an inspired design philosophy. It’s a great story involving Christmas toys if you ever want to hear the whole thing!

At this point, Jami says that I (Bob) am not explaining how I could possibly be qualified to be in any kind of design or home décor business. So I will tell you now… I worked for 15 years as a carpenter in order to support my music career. I got a degree in Electrical Engineering Tech from Purdue University. (Yes, a degree and still the rock thing… another story, my poor parents.) Somehow it all adds up?

So back to Cheap Thrills, Jami and Bob combined talents in 2004 (like wonder twin powers) and become the design and remodel team that we are today. We operate out of a 10,000 square foot warehouse in Keller, Texas that offers the same fun trinkets that Jami offered in her home only on a larger scale. Jami is the creative power house always striving for the ultimate in uniqueness for each new adventure (this is our AKA for a new client or project) and Bob finds inventive ways to make it all happen.
